A boy of about 10 years old on Friday detonated a suicide vest at a crowded market in Gombi town in Adamawa State, Killing many according to witnesses.

Photos: How four friends raped me- 14-year-old girl

Four friends, Femi Olatunji, 17; Oyekanmi Rasheed, 18; Oladele Habib, 18 and John Alade, 16, are currently chilling at the police net in Lagos, for allegedly raping 14-year-old Habibat Adeolu (not real names).
Speaking to Saturday PUNCH , Habibat said the friends threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the incident.
Narrating her ordeal, the young girl who said she had known Femi as her tailor, said she went to him to have her dress mended when he and his friends pounced on her.She said

“Femi had once told me he would want to marry me and I told him I wasn’t interested. That particular day, I had gone to his shop to give him a dress to fix for me. He said Brother Abidoye (I used to run errands for him) was calling me. I got to Brother Abidoye’s room and I didn’t see him.
“At that point, Femi and his friends entered the room, switched off the light and they raped me. I tried shouting and calling for help but because they had tied my mouth, I couldn’t shout very well.
“When they finished, my private part was paining me. I had to tell my mother what happened. That was when she alerted the police and the boys were arrested,” she said.
However, the young men claimed they didn’t rape her saying it was a consensual act.
Speaking to our correspondent, Femi said Habibat has been his girlfriend for about a year and she actually paid her for the sex they had.
“She is just lying against me. We have been dating since last year. She is more than 14 years old. She came to my shop that day and I suggested to her that we should enter the room. She said I should give her money. I asked her how much she wanted and she said N1,000. I gave her and we went inside and we had sex.
“My friends were outside. We couldn’t have held her hand. A lot of people were even outside. If we had forced her, people would have seen us. Her dad even met me and asked if I would accept her as my wife if she gets pregnant and I said I would because she is my girlfriend. Her dad said I should go because I didn’t have a problem. I have been sleeping with her since because she is my girlfriend.
In his own defence, Oyekanmi said Habibat readily agreed to have sex with him.
“We were at Femi’s place and she and Femi entered the room. Later on, I entered the room because I wanted to charge my phone. I didn’t see Femi there but I saw the girl naked. She wasn’t crying. So I told her I wanted to have sex with her and she said I should go ahead.”
Oladele as well, insisted Habibat collected money from Femi and also agreed to have sex with them.
“She was very comfortable with what we did. When I got to the room, I told her she should allow me to take my own turn and she readily agreed. Nobody held her. People have been sleeping with her. This wasn’t the first time. We all know her in our area. She readily gives to anybody who asks for it.

Tragic! 3 school boys boiled to death after falling into hot sewer (photo)

Three schoolboys who fell into a hot sewer were "boiled to death".

The young boys, aged eight, died in the 80C underground conduit after one of them initially tumbled into it and the other two tried to mount a rescue effort.
They have been named as Daniil Slisarenko, Alexander Sanko and Daniil Viik, from the Russian city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky...

It is claimed the tragedy took place after a hole in the sewer in the grounds of their school did not get repaired quickly enough.Yevgeny Sivayev, a local newspaper publisher, said:
"It is no exaggeration to say that the city is crying. Such grief we have not had before.
"It is impossible to look at children - their bodies are packed in bags.": "Judging by the fact that straps of the first boy's backpack were torn off, his friends wanted to help him as he fell and pulled him up.
"It did not work. So they fell in there trying to save him.
"The rescuers first found them, and could not reach the first boy for a long time.

One million boys robbery gang threaten Lagos community after the arrest of 4 members during operation (Graphic)

For the past three days, residents of Ojo and Badagary local government areas have not slept following a recent letter purportedly written to the residents by the dreaded and ruthless robbery gang called One Million Boys in Lagos State,Pm News reports.

According to some residents, the letter was written to them following the arrest of four members of the gang after their recent operation in the area that left many residents injured, with many losing their valuables to the gang.

In what seemed to be a reprisal attack, the letter reportedly informed the residents of their coming and asked them to keep money for them or be prepared to die.

The threat has leftt the residents in fear and they have resorted to self help by keeping vigil.

P.M.NEWS gathered that at least 100 members of the gang struck in the night recently.

According to eyewitness account, during the recent raids, residents who did not have money or valuables to give to them were attacked with machetes.
The victims are in various hospitals receiving treatment.
P.M.NEWS also learnt that women were not spared, as some of them were raped and asked to have sex with their blood relations.
However, while the atrocity was going on, some youths mobilized themselves and resisted their operation and in the process four suspects were apprehended and handed over to the police, while the rest escaped.

5 Lagos fire fighters stabbed by area boys while trying to put out fire in Ajegunle & Surulere

Lagos State Fire Service cried out yesterday over the frequent attacks on its men in line of duty, warning those involved to desist or face the law.
We learnt that more than five firemen have been attacked in various parts of the state.
The service director, Rasak Fadipe, said the officers were attacked at Idewu Street, Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle and Odunsi Street in Surulere.
He described the officers as dedicated and hardworking, adding that their motive was to save lives and property.
According to him, the gallant officers responded to distress calls and were about to carry out their statutory duties when the hoodlums who wanted to loot saw them as obstacle and started attacking, stabbing and chasing them from the fire scene.
Fadipe explained that a senior officer was stabbed in the ear with a broken bottle; another was wounded in the head; others were manhandled.
“In order to prevent confrontation and breakdown of law and order, the officials retreated and ran for their lives. The mayhem was reported at Tolu and Itire Police stations and it led to the damage of a fire truck,” he said.
He hailed the Itire Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for intervening and rescuing the officers from further assault.
The fire boss appealed to the public to desist from damaging government facilities as tax payers money were expended on providing the amenities. The consequences of unwarranted but coordinated attacks on fire trucks, he said, were an indirect denial of dividend of democracy to others as the damaged truck cannot serve the need of Lagosians.

Genevieve Nnaji gave daughter up for adoption to a childless couple after father rejected pregnancy

For those who do not know him, the biological father of Genevieve Nnaji’s baby is a socialite named Dotun Oladipo popularly called Acura by his people in Egbeda area of Lagos.
Before he relocated to the United States, the man was said to have impregnated Genevieve Nnaji at a tender age of 15.
dotun oladipupo acura
She delivered her baby at 16 but Acura didn’t take up the responsibility of fathering Genevieve Nnaji’s daughter because of religious factor and his commitment to another relationship at that time.
It is now over 21 years later, Acura is yet to return to assume the position of a father to Genevieve Nnaji’s only daughter.

Why Genevieve Nnaji Gave Up Her Child For Adoption When Her Father Rejected Her

The good news is that Genevieve Nnaji gave up the child for adoption at a tender age when her father refused to forgive her for getting pregnant at such a tender age.
When she gave birth to Chimebuka aka Lily, Genny knew that embarking on that journey of independence with an extra load- a baby, wouldn’t be an easy one, so she began to look for an alternative, and that was how she met the man (name withheld) who had been married for some years without any fruit of the womb coming from his wife, and the man adopted Genny’s baby to enable Genny go into the world to hustle for survival, and that was it.
It may interest you to know that Genny’s daughter still lives with the man and his family in Lagos mainland, though she is now a third year student in one of the private universities in Lagos
She calls the man and his wife dad and mom. And what I cherish most about this whole issue is how Genny and the family that adopted her daughter had been managing to keep it cool, clean and free of drama plus media publicity. But then, why won’t the man be loyal when Genny had been helping to get him contracts because he is a contractor? In fact, Genny had been more than a blessing to the man. The man’s comfortable financial status today owes tribute to Genny’s fame in the Nigerian movie industry.
So if you think Genny is living and training her daughter, then you are very WRONG!

Why Genevieve Nnaji Is Yet To Remarry

Genny had confessed in previous interviews that the fear of ‘failing in marriage’ was the only reason she’s yet to marry. She’d been alleged to have dated Ayo Makun, D’banj, a former vice president, and the latest man to have been romantically linked to the screen goddess, Ishaya Bako, a 29-year-old film director and entrepreneur.

The two first met when, Genevieve relocated to Abuja from her Lagos house two years ago. Bako has allegedly involved Genevieve in most of his major business deals which include his vast real estate business in Abuja. Bako was also alleged to have funded and directed Genevieve’s latest movie, ‘Road to Yesterday’.

Artist shoot by police denied treatment in hospitals

An artist, Smart Owie, shot by police during the demolition of the Artistes Village at the National Theatre, Lagos, said he was being denied treatment by hospitals because he had no police report.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Owie was shot in his right leg on Jan. 23 during the demolition of some structures at the village believed to be illegal.
Artefacts worth over N40 million were also destroyed during the demolition of the village, within the premises of the National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC).
The demolition was on the order of the General Manager of the National Theatre, Kabiru Yusuf, who also supervised it.
Owie claimed that because of lack of police report, hospitals had denied him treatment, saying that he must produce police report to ascertain the source of his wound.
“I’m lucky that the bullet did not lock in my leg but just pierced it, but I need an x-ray to ascertain the extent of the damage to my leg.
“But I have not been able to do the x-ray or receive treatment because police refused to give me a report that could be taken along to hospital for treatment.
“The funny thing is that since it is a bullet wound, people are sceptical of treating me.
“Doctors at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) with the intervention of known artistes only helped to apply light treatment.
“But I still need a comprehensive diagnosis of what has happened to my leg which has not been done as we speak,’’ he said.
According to him, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who later came after the demolition promised him better treatment.
“He (the minister) also promised that there will be compensation. But as I am talking to you, there has not been anything.
“The minister saw me, he came closer to my side, I also showed him an x-ray referral letter from LASUTH that I should bring a police report,’’ he said.
Owie said that what was most important to him now was his health and that he wanted to get well to start catering for his my family.
“I don’t have the minister’s contact number and I do not have that of any of his assistants.
“I’ve not been able to do anything. I have a family. I have three daughters and my wife is currently pregnant.“My first child is in JSS 3, the second in JSS I and the third in KG II, the fourth on the way.
“As I’m talking to you, I am helpless. I cannot provide my dependants’ basic needs,’’ he said.
Owie said he had an exhibition and other commission jobs to do but that the bullet wound had grounded him. (NAN)

The offence contravened Sections 166, 172 and 337 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Family abandons lassa fever victim corpse in national hospital

The corpse of the patient that died of Lassa fever  two weeks ago,is still at the National Hospital in Abuja and yet to be buried.

A source in the hospital told The PUNCH that the family might have abandoned the corpse “because of the manner of the death.”
The 33-year-old newly-married man lived in Jos, Plateau State, but came to see a relative in Kubwa because of his illness. He, however, died within 24 hours of admission at the National Hospital, Abuja.

An employee who pleaded anonymity said,
“The information we got was that the family of the deceased patient are scared that they may contract the disease in the process of the burial. Several calls have been put to them but it seems they are not convinced. A lot of work should be done by enlightening them that the body has been decontaminated and is therefore safe and harmless.”
When contacted, the spokesperson for the National Hospital, Dr. Tayo Haastrup, said the hospital management had been waiting on the Federal Ministry of Health to give proper advice and directive concerning the corpse.
“Nobody is running. Our doctors, nurses and medical staff in the Accident and Emergency Department are prepared for any suspected cases of Lassa fever. We are prepared and there is no cause for alarm. All the kits are available.
“The corpse of the dead patient was well bagged as usual and cannot contaminate anybody. We have informed the Federal Ministry of Health. The ministry, through the Director, Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, Prof. Abdulsalami Nasidi, should advise us appropriately on it. We are waiting for the directive of the ministry.”
However, when contacted, Nasidi told The PUNCHthat the family of the dead patient had yet to come and claim it but did not explain why it was so.
The NCDC boss also ruled out cremation of the corpse simply because the death was as a result of Lassa fever.

I started robbing in 2014 when I came out from prison in 2013; I went to Ikoyi prison for some months after being arrested for robbing a whiteman of his phone in Ikoyi Club.
“In prison, some inmates are bad and some are good. The bad ones learn bad things. I joined Eiye Cult in prison, they beat me and gave me water mixed with pepper. They later gave me orientation. When I was leaving prison, they gave me the name of an arms dealer who will give me gun. His name is Segun. You can see the Eiye mark on my body. I used to buy one bullet for N1,000.
